I was walking by the streets of the sassy quarter or “Salamanca” in Madrid in the tree-lined street of “Jorge Juan” when a small shop window across the street, got my attention. “Utopia” is not really a shop that you see right away but one you have to discover. It’s a small shop somehow hidden if you don’t have the address or the taste to get yourself in; you could easily not even realize it’s there. For those reasons it’s very particular so I decide to write an article about it.

The variety of the collection outstanding, different and authentic. The good taste and the quality of the merchandise are quite notable.

The owners are a Spanish couple, true hard workers, who besides life partners they also share the duties of their business including the time spent working in their boutique. They are Luis Trigos Flores and his wife, Natalia Diaz Meco Ruiz.
I had the pleasure of a small talk with Luis. A young man around the age of 40 with so much energy and the will to expand his chain stores also overseas, preferably in Miami (U.S.A) where he plans more store openings in the future. In fact Luis spends lots of his time in Miami where he already has established another business that enterprises in new technologies:

As for Natalia he tells us that she is a natural born “Personal shopper” certified designer. She has always loved fashion and once she had obtained experience in sales and created a substantial client list she decided that was time to open her own place. After all, her clients have always been very satisfied with her work her selections and her taste. So why not to taking a chance? A little later “Utopia” is born. The shop is already 3 years old now, and to their great satisfaction the business goes very well. For the time being it’s a multi label boutique but soon they hope that Natalia will be able to design and produce her own personal brand. She is the one that chooses which brands to include in the shop so it’s her that selects the collections. To Luis on the other hand, falls the work that has to do with the technologies and the marketing together with having to do with the general management of the shop.
The boutique is completely dedicated to women’s clothing for now, but in the future, they would like to get involved in selling men’s brands also.
In addition to clothing they also have extraordinary accessories, such as “made in Italy” bags and necklaces “made in Asia”.
Rinascimento, LM LULU and Zanko are the main brands they work with now. From time to time they add some new labels they want to test in the market but to them the idea is to keep just three or four brands and at the right time to introduce their own line.
The customers are ladies of the middle – upper class. As for the prices we could define them as convenient, considering the quality of the items.
Among the clients, Luis tells us there are many well-known T.V personas like for example “Malena Costa” (famous mostly for the “Don Algon” and “L’Oréal “T.V commercials, among others.) You can take a look of the outfits that those famous ladies have chosen in Utopia’s “Instagram” page!
After having looked and studied all the collections in the store I, was very happy to buy an exceptional bright red Indian necklace.

I really do hope that many of you will get to look into that shop, which has to propose collections that are different and unique compared to the other stores in that area, that give the impression that they more or less seem to have the same to offer in their clothing suggestions.
I sincerely wish this couple a life full of even more success, personal and professional that they deserve, having seen how much passion and effort they put everyday in developing their business!
